Kinfolk Dinner - Brooklyn

We spent last weekend in New York City for the Kinfolk Brooklyn gathering.

Often, for Andrew and I, when we collaborate with others, it's all of us in our own little spaces of the worlds, via the computer. It hit me- while I sliced cheese with Cree and Amanda, as Sarah and Amy hung eucalyptus above our heads, and Nate, Katie, and Julie ran about making everything work together, and Leo photographed, and Andrew filmed, and many other people did their thing- that we were all in one place, collaborating on one evening. And, as the evening wore on, the room filled with such beautiful faces and souls. And we all sat down at one long table to eat together.

I highly recommend you follow along to see if there is a Kinfolk dinner in your area- one a month for the rest of the year!

a small celebration.

These photos are from a few weekends ago... A quiet little dinner, celebrating the launch of Kinfolk. Cheering on Nathan and Amanda, especially, who did such a wonderful job. Diner, in Brooklyn, was the perfect spot.

Yesterday was a grand celebration of Andrew's birthday. I think I told him happy birthday like 300x. You can only really say it once a year, so how could I resist? We have a little more celebrating to do, yet!

(Thanks to Amanda for taking the photo of us!)

a visit to the chocolate.

While we were in NYC, we were staying at a loft just a few blocks from well known Mast Brother's Chocolate. As we walked over one morning, the silent wafts of chocolate came drifting down the blocks to tell us of it's nearness. This chocolate shop is wonderful. It pleases the senses. My favorite chocolate bar is Fleur de Sel, and Andrew's is Stumptown Coffee.

We like to stock up everytime we're in town. Sadly, we only have one bar left... And we've been home two days?
