snowfall.

It was our first snow fall this winter. Ours, not our city's, as we were enjoying sunny California during the others. Snow quickly became ice, but we enjoyed it how we could. Andrew and I stared out the window late at nite watching it fall. Always a magical thing, as it glows in the streetlights. We tried to use self control and not wake up little Rinah.

Sunday morning came with a desire to not be cooped up in the house. Yes, winter is for the fireside... But I'm a fair weather girl from a childhood in a mild climate, and I have trouble being inside too many days in a row. So we went out. We got hot chocolate, which didnt stay hot long. And we walked by the water, which was even more freezing than anywhere else. But we had fun. And it made our fireside, later that evening, filled with the dearest of friends, all the cozier and more appreciated.

Other weekend highlights: Dinner with a man who's book inspired us so very much, Rinah getting to meet new friends (aand now she's hankering for me to 'produce'), this most inspiring documentary- PRESSPAUSEPLAY- free on vimeo.

you crack me up carissa. "produce"
when i saw that instagram the other day, I couldn't stop wishing Rinah would let me borrow her head band. Ask her if that's cool. Thanks.

cute :)

May I ask what type of boots you're wearing? They're cute. Are the sorels...? Or sportos by chance? (I need new boots!)

Love that I can recognize baby Eleanor before knowing that you and Taza were even friends. How special to discover two favorite blogging stories are intertwined.

Wonderful post, as always. And, thanks for sharing the book link (surprised that one hadn't surfaced on our radar before)-- looking forward to reading it, and sharing with our Adoption Ministry group.

lindsay- the boots are llbean's duck boots. I love them, but if you live in the cold, they definitely need wool socks!

I have loved following your blog and adoption of Rinah! As an adoption worker and a sister to two adopted brothers it is an issue near and dear to my heart, and I love to see other Christian families welcoming in the orphaned as sons and daughters. He truly places the lonely into families.
