front steps.

i think the washington dc area forgot about spring. its already summer, it seems. weather is an adventure-- i always think of a conversation in that hideous strength when they are having a picnic and denniston says it's why he and camilla got married- 'we both like weather. not this or that kind of weather, but just weather.' we want to be like that too.

anyway- it's hot. and we're trying to hold off on air conditioning our home as long as possible. so we cooled off in the shade of our front steps and drank homemade ginger ale.

homemade ginger ale? I'm impressed. we got off the plane last night and it felt like we'd landed in the jungle!! the heat came in quick!

Oh, I do love that second to last picture--with Andrew's hand on your leg with such genuine affection. I don't know how that is quite conveyed through pictures--it must be in the soft hues you somehow always manage to incorporate.

absolutely it is hot here! i need to find a pool! : ) i think we'll get some more milder days in the 80s...this area always has weird fluctuations in temperature. stay cool!

You two always have such lovely photos. Were these taken with a tripod or did someone take them of you? I agree with Becky - such genuine affection is evident.

@mrspeacock- thanks! my engagement ring's diamond is a little loose (it is an heirloom), so until i get it fixed, i'm rather enjoying giving my wedding band a turn on it's own!

@janis- tripod+remote. :) sort of awkward- but im a little picky.

Wow i don't even know what ginger ale is but i wanna try it! Haha, looks indeed refreshing. I searched for a recipe but the yeast thing made me join marissa up there, yeasty drinks' recipes must be given by someone reliable! Like you! :) If you post the recipe i'll try it!

Well and just to say, here i'm getting so so cold, my hands are almost freezing. I've been feeling as if i was in london for a week! Amazing fog and cold on the streets of montevideo... i'll warm myself up the whole winter seeing pictures of your summer :)

Toronto skipped spring too. It's super hot here and I'm living on homemade lemonade mixed with iced tea!
