andrew + carissa + rinah
Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11:35AM we wanted to share some exciting news with you. We are currently in the process of adopting a little girl from Uganda. Her name is Rinah. Maybe you've seen her around this blog before. She is 7 years old. And we love her like crazy.
We've been walking through this process since July of 2010 and we are hoping to go pick her up sometime this Spring.
As you can imagine, there is much to this story. That's why we've set up www.adoptrinah.com. We really don't want anyone to feel any pressure whatsoever to give financially. Your support through prayers will be more than enough for us. We mean that.
If you would, please keep us in your prayers. There are many more hoops to jump through, and we believe only the grace of God can empower us to complete what we trust He is calling us to.
Love, peace and hope for the future,
andrew + carissa + rinah

oh my goodness i'm so excited for you!!!! you two are amazing.
this just blows me away. this is so beautiful AND THAT VIDEO - so well done & definitely pulls at the heart strings!!
Being adopted myself I have nothing but utmost respect for both of you. Monetarily I don't have much to share but I have 28 years of experience as an adoptee. Iif you ever have questions please feel free to ask. I've done lots of research and am in the process of creating a website for young people to discuss and open up about their experiences. I also have a large collection of books that I would be willing to send your way. Many blessings on you and your expanding family. It's decisions like yours that make this world a little brighter.
That video is so lovely. Little Rinah is so blessed to have you two in her life. I hope everything works out for your family.
I've only just recently stumbled upon your blog but from the very moment I did, I could tell there was something special about it. All I can say is how touched I am that such a young couple would actually take the steps to see something like this through. It's beautiful and selfless. I pray that the process will be a smooth one:)
p.s The video you made was brilliant. Well done!
This is amazing! I will totally pray for you guys. I remember seeing the video on Rinah a while ago on the blog and I thought she seemed like such a beautiful girl. How amazing that you are adopting here! Lovely lovely news.
XO
this is so so wonderful. :)
you're an example to us all, and i pray it works out for you 3. the movie was heartfelt and i'll do my best to spread the word.
I am so incredibly happy and excited for you guys to take this leap of faith, as I am sure there would've been a lot of things to work through before an adoption can be finalized (not even to mention all the work going into setting up your home for rinah). I know God will make every path straight, as this is most beautiful selfless decision anyone could ever make!! Aah may you guys be so blessed with your new little addition!! xx
I love your blog.
And I love your story.
Praying for you and your newest family member!
God bless!
-Rylie.
What a beautiful story and video. May God bless your new adventures as a family :) My prayers are with you all.
I've just donated a little bit, it's all I can give right now but I intend to donate more soon! I wish you both the best of luck with your adoption. It's always been a dream of mine to adopt from Africa, and seeing the two of you do it inspires me not to give up on that dream. You two are have such beautiful souls.
